Selenium(hope for people with HIV)

HIV ( Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that causes AIDS. One thing that I've learned is that HIV or AIDS are not curable. Scientists have been trying to find the cure for it but they have failed. I understand that HIV is transfer in someone's body through blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. I know that sometimes people get HIV because they had unprotected sexual intercourse, this is when people have sexual intercourse with different partners every other day.

The scientists believe that HIV came from an African monkey’s virus. They believe that central Africa may have been the first place that HIV was found. Some people think that HIV might have been an "accidental predictor biological warfare research," but they think that it is not possible for that incident to happened since the technology that would have created the HIV virus was not around in 1975 when HIV was found. I've learned that in the world 95% of hereterosexual are HIV positive. This is a crisis compare that we have people who die everyday of cancer, accidents, or other diseases. I learned that most people who have HIV are from Africa. This disease spread like no others.

I believe that Africans are not well educated about it, and it's causing so many damages in there. I know that with the hunger and problems Africa is facing all that are causing people to sell their bodies for money or do other things that will cause them to get HIV. I know that some homosexual didn't know that they can get HIV, too from their partners. This has been a big issue for them, too. I believe that the world should take time and help the people in Africa to understand better this virus. I know that most of it is the lack of knowledge that people have. Kids have been used by older people to have sex with them, or some people would tell the kid’s parents that they are going to help them and take them and give them a better life but all there going to do is sell them to people who are going to have sex with them. This has been a big issue that people try to ignore, but I think it have play a big part of this.

I know that the world is falling apart with the war and different diseases but HIV has been something else. People need to get up and realize that they can do somethingOn the case of babies getting HIV through parents I've witness a couple who knew that they have HIV but decided to get pregnant. The baby was born with HIV, and she didn't live for more than 2months. I heard that sometimes people who have HIV would give birth to a baby whose HIV negative. I had a friend when I was in Burundi whose parents were diagnosed with AIDS, her older brother passed away from it but she was still fine. I heard that she didn't have it. She was perfectly health all those years I knew her. I am not sure if that's possible but I knew that her parents had AIDS, and they took medicine for it. I think I remember that people used to say that her mother didn't nurse her when she was a child, and I think that's why she's okay, but what about the blood that they share? I am not so sure if this was really true, but I don't understand why she was perfectly fine. Since 1975 when HIV was starting to be noticed people did not have any hopes on surviving this virus. The University of Miami researchers have reported that the Selenium supplements appear to reduce or slow the progression of HIV.

Usually when someone is HIV positive they would take placebo, which did not reduce the HIV disease. The Selenium was reported on January 22, by those researches and the people who were HIV positive who were treated with Selenium show no progression of HIV disease. I understand that people should not be so excited about this Selenium to soon because the researches are still testing it, but it can be the cure that the world has been waiting for all these years.
